Emergency Solutions
Emergency Nutrition Preparedness
In the healthcare foodservice environment, the word "disaster" makes operators see double: Disaster number-one is the earthquake, hurricane, tornado, or other crisis that breaks the critical infrastructure. Disaster number-two is the potential breakdown of mission-critical meal service to clients.
Emergencies from Hurricane Katrina to the earthquakes and fires of California have taught us a tragic lesson that providing residents with proper nutritional care during emergency periods is critical to survival of both residents and facilities.

With an array of product options and pre-planned disaster menus provided by Nutricopia, a typical operation can serve Meals for AllTM for about week. Determining how many to feed and how much emergency food to have on hand is easy with this simple chart:
Number Of Persons Included In Emergency Food Plan
Food Service or Dietary Service Supervisor determines the number of persons who will be served in a potential emergency as follows:
 |
Number of patients/residents |
_______ |
 |
Number of staff |
_______ |
 |
Number of family or volunteers |
_______ |
 |
Number of potential surge |
_______ |
 |
Total number to be served |
_______ |
Divide this number by 25 as Meals for AllTM emergency meals are conveniently packed in cases to serve 25 people for three days. This will give you the number of Meals for AllTM units you will need to serve your population for a three day period (round up to the nearest whole number). Seven day solutions are also available.
More than Meals
Nutricopia is going beyond Meals for AllTM and emergency plan tools and support to provide the most complete emergency nutrition solution available anywhere. To ensure the ultimate success, Nutricopia is offering other emergency supplies products such as water storage.
